INFUSE & HYDRATE

Is the most important factor of healthy skin. Over a course of treatments the skin will be left ‘glowing’ and will feel rejuvenated and hydrated. The production of collagen and elastin is stimulated, which results in a firmer, more youthful looking skin. The serum infusion system allows for serums to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin, resulting in a hydrated, plump glow.

Acne Scarring

HydraBrasion works by removing the top layers of dead skin cells from the skin’s surface making it particularly effective in treating acne. Getting rid of the dead skin cells from the surface of the skin unclogs the pores reducing the chance of new spots developing. Selecting the proper acne serum to infuse into the skin will allow for deeper penetration and aid in successful delivery of active ingredients to helps clear acne and post inflammatory acne pigmentation.

Fine Lines and Wrinkles & Aging Skin

The vacuum action of the HydraBrasion treatment works to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin. As we age elastin and collagen production starts to slow down. The combination of collagen stimulation and increased skin renewal will improve the condition of the skin’s surface smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. Selecting the proper anti-aging serum to infuse into the skin will allow for deeper penetration and aid in successful delivery of active ingredients to helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Dry and Dehydrated Skin

Uneven Skin Tone Normally skin renews itself approximately every 28 days. Removing the dead cells from the top layers of skin, HydraBrasion helps speeds up the rate at which the skin would normally renew itself revealing new, fresh skin and giving a radiant glow. Selecting the proper hydrating serum to infuse into the skin will allow for deeper penetration and aid in successful delivery of active ingredients to help increase the skin's hydration properties.

Hyper-Pigmentation and the Cause (Melasma)

Most obvious causes are the oral use of birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy, pregnancy or interaction with certain medications. Repeated sun exposure or overexposure also plays a part as does inflammation or trauma caused to the skin. Regular HydraBrasion treatments will show significant benefits to sun-damaged skin and help remove unwanted pigmentation marks.

We recommend getting hydrabrasion treatments monthly.  Those with acne and hyperpigmentation may require more sessions. 

Duration of the hydrabrasion treatment varies depending on what the facial entails such as masking, oxygen dome, serum infusion, facial massage etc. We have several types of Hydrabrasion facials to choose from. See our menu and online scheduler for more information on duration and pricing.

As with any exfoliating facial, we recommend holding all exfoliants such as AHA (lactic acid, glycolic acid, mandelic acid, etc), BHA (salicylic acid), Retinol including topical acne prescriptions at least 3 days before your appointment. 

Those who are on Accutane / Epuris currently OR taken within the last 6 months must wait 6 months from last dose before getting a HydraBrasion facial.

Wait 2 weeks after botox, fillers, peel, exfoliating facial, laser / IPL treatments before getting HydraBrasion.

While there is no downtime with HydraBrasion, we encourage scheduling your HydraBrasion no earlier than 4 weeks before an event in case you experience a breakout or reaction. 

You must not have an active acne breakout or fungal/bacterial infection or open wounds or eczema/dermatitis. It's okay to have a few pimples. 

Pregnancy

An increase in hormones can affect the skin during pregnancy, this can cause pigmentation. For this reason we advise against hydrabrasion as the skin could react in an unexpected manner making the condition worse. You must obtain a written note from your physician and/or dermatologist indicating it is safe for you to receive a Hydrabrasion treatment.

Cancer 

You must be in remission for at least 6 months prior to commencing a course of Hydrabrasion. Hydrabrasion stimulates the blood flow and lymphatic drainage that can lead to unwanted complications.

Grade 4 Acne

Clients with this level of acne should not be treated with hydrabrasion. If the skin is very congested with pustules and papules, hydrabrasion would break open these pustules/papules, irritate the skin and spread bacteria. 

Accutane 

Accutane is a medication for acne. Taking Accutane causes thinning of the skin. If you are taking Accutane, you must wait 6 months after discontinuing before receiving a hydrabrasion treatment.

Auto-immune disease

Used to describe a number of disorders where the body attacks its own cells and tissues. We will not perform Hydrabrasion if you have an auto-immune disorder. Please advise us during consultation and your medical history questionnaire.

Diabetes

Diabetes affects the nerves and circulation and the skin can take much longer to heal than normal. Clients must provide written permission from their GP before treatment can be carried out.

Impetigo

This is a contagious bacterial skin infection. We will not perform hydrabrasion. You must advise us during consultation and on your medical history questionnaire.

Rosacea

Rosacea cannot be treated with hydrabrasion as it cause further irritation. 

Advise us of the following:

• Eye Infections e.g. Conjunctivitis, Styes/Hordolea, Cysts
• Skin Disorders e.g. Active Acne, Seborrheic Dermatitis, Herpes Simplex (cold sores), Eczema, Psoriasis
• Tendency to get Keloid Scars
• Broken capillaries
• Raised Moles, Warts, Skin Tags ,Cuts, Bruises, Abrasions
